At this two-day event our Time Trialers will benefit from an EXTRA EXCLUSIVE SESSION! We will be holding our first Time Trials “SHOOTOUT”. A Shootout is where the Time Trial Competitors get a track session all their own. This Shootout Session is in addition to the 4 sessions we normally run with the HPDE4 group.
The Shootout is designed to create a track environment where we can get our best times. Not only will we have the track to ourselves, we will all begin the event and be sent out on the track in order from fastest time overall (fastest out of all TT classes) to slowest. Cars will be started with minimum intervals of ten seconds. This should provide each driver with the cleanest track time.
The logistics will be a little different to squeeze in that fifth session. It will also be necessary to grid the cars in the hot pit for the start. We will need help with that. It will be helpful for each competitor to know where his best time of the day falls in the overall group’s best times and to know which car should be just ahead of him and just behind him on the starting grid.
The Time Trialers will run their first three sessions with HPDE4. These first three sessions will be officially timed and count for points.
Our fourth session will be our Shootout and will also be timed and count for points. We plan to take our fifth session with HPDE4 immediately after the Shootout. This last session might be timed but will not be official and will not count for points.
We will need some help getting the cars on the grid for the Shootout. If you are willing to help, please contact Barbara Nix at barbara@drivenasa.com Competitors should make sure to get to the grid early and look for direction.
