NASA Norcal TT’ers,
The season opener at Infineon is now behind us and the race is on for the 2007 championships for each class. It is still too early for anyone to get a demanding lead in season points, but the weekend helped drivers get the winter itch out of their system despite the challenges from the weather. The weekend started off a little, ok a lot, on the wet side and made a lot of us wonder what type of weekend we were in for. Several TT’ers brought out the rain tires while others tried to find shelter and stay as dry as possible and supporting the rest of the TT competitors. Saturday never did dry up but we still ended up with some long awaited track time. Now Sunday morning was not looking too good at first, but with the rain behind us, and several groups running before our first session, would we be in for a dry track? YOU BET!! The track dried up and the Norcal TT’ers were back on the track and looking to put down the fastest times they could! Several track records were broken despite the freshly washed track. Team Alliance CSR decided put down the new TTR record with a 1:52:436 while Navid Kahangi set a new TTS record with a time of 1:49.069. Team RFR/GST decided to get in on this record setting day as well with a time of 1:53.512 for TTB, mean while, Mark Welch didn’t want the TTC class to go without a new record on this day and laid down a time of 1:55.188. First place results for Saturday and Sunday are listed below but the complete TT results from Saturday and Sunday are posted on the TT web site along with season standings. Don’t forget that the next scheduled event is March 10th and 11th at Thunderhill Raceway, Hope to see you all there!
