Hello Norcal TT’ers,
The second weekend of the season turned out to be a nice weekend and we all showed up with a mission in mind! The mission on our minds, continue the trend of records falling from event number one at Infineon to event number 2 at Thunderhill and the overall goal in mind is the Norcal TT Championship!!!!
Saturday morning came and the sun started shining from the start. The first session was in the late morning (early lunch), meaning the track was warmed up and ready for the Norcal TT’ers to take the first shot at the records and continue the run for the season Championships. In addition to the drive at the records and Season Championship, there was a lot of time to hangout amongst each other and talk about cars and the different lines around the track. Not to mention the last session on Sunday was fun to watch, 3 people (Mark Welch, Andy Sutak, and Charles Ng) appeared to have rented the track to themselves for 20 minutes, they were the only 3 cars running. That had to be a blast, they were able to do as they pleased and try different lines and apex’s without the worry of another car being within a mile of them!!!
From the results of Saturday and Sunday some people had definitely figured out some quick ways around Thunderhill. Congratulations to TTS Michael Neujahr, TTB Team RFR/GST, and TTD Bob Blackwood – all 3 of these people put down a demanding charge on Saturday and broke the track records from 2006. Now Sunday was no bore, TTS Michael Neujahr and TTB Team RFR/GST were not satisfied with their new record times from Saturday and figured they would improve on them, just to make it more difficult for the next TT’er who wants to challenge their new times. In addition to their new records on Saturday and Sunday, Joe Osha decided to get in on these new track records and went ahead and improved on his old TTR track record. The first place competitors for Saturday and Sunday are listed below. Don’t forget our next event is scheduled for April 14th and 15th at Thunderhill, looks like we be able to take a run at some of these new times put down by our fellow TT competitors, not to mention continue our charge at the season Championships!!!!!
