Norcal TT’ers,

The Thunderhill event on April 14th and 15th turned out to be a good one despite the weather forecast.  Of course, Mother Nature wanted to test some our abilities by adding some moisture to the track on Saturday, but then decided to let us try the dry line again for Sunday!

Saturday morning came and the rain-slicked track was ready for the Time Trialers to give it a try.  There were a few spins throughout the day as you could imagine, after all, the rain really only let up for a moment.  That moment was glimmer of hope since TT was lining up to head out for the 3rd session.  But, no such luck, the down poor came and it was back to a slick water-filled track.  Needless to say, no track records were broken Saturday but the weather forecast looked promising for Sunday.  However, Saturday’s points could prove to be important down the road for the season Championship, time will tell!

Sunday came and the wind had definitely helped dry the track and the cool air was going to let us all have some extra horsepower which would help put some good times down, possibly even some track records could be broke?  Several drivers mentioned the wind and being able to feel it in the handling of the vehicles but we all stuck with it and had a good time!

Congratulations to Michael Neujahr (TTS-new track record 1:57.527), Team Goodsport racing / Team 3S (TTA-new track record 2:01.575), and Jason Lui (TTD-new track record 2:07.084) – all 3 of these people took advantage of the dry track and extra horsepower provided by the weather and put down some new track records that are going to be challenging to beat - but I think we are all up to the challenge and are looking forward to give it a try!!!

Don’t forget our next event is scheduled for May 5th and 6th at Infineon, which is less than 2 wks away!!!!    Please make sure you signup quickly for this event, as you all know Infineon fills up and more than likely will be a sell out.
