SoCal Leads the NASA TT Program into 2008
The NASA TT program began in the Southern California region over four years ago. Since then, we have had one of the largest TT programs in NASA. Last year we had over 125 competitors, and awarded Championship trophies and prizes to 19 drivers in 7 competition classes. Thanks to our local sponsors, we awarded over $2500 worth of prizes to our Champions at our 2007 Awards Banquet. Three SoCal drivers brought home National Championships from Mid-Ohio in 2006 (Pat Lindsey--TTA, Greg Greenbaum--TTC, and Dan Gardner--TTF), and one in 2007 (Greg Greenbaum --TTC).
In 2008, we will be competing at three great local tracks as well as at the National Championships at Mid-Ohio: California Speedway (full “Roval”), Willow Springs International Raceway, and Buttonwillow Raceway Park. At Buttonwillow Raceway Park, we will use between multiple different configurations of the track for competition, giving us plenty of diversity for the season. We will be going to Willow Springs on Feb 9-10 for our season opener and first event that counts toward the 2008 SoCal Championship TT Series. Our second event will be at California Speedway on March 21-22. The season doesn’t end until Nov 8-9 when we finish the year at Buttonwillow. We are mandating three points "drop days" this season. This should be the best year yet! Come and join us.
